Rapid Blend disc

Company:
CMD Engineering - Manufacturer and Supplier of Miniature Trains

Task:
To create a burr-free appearance on the mini trains and to achieve a pre-paint finish.

Action:
Chris Dixon has used a 4 1/2" angle grinder with the Norton Rapid Blend disc to prep one of his miniature trains. On sheet steel he used the disc with light pressure to remove 'Mill Scale' and to remove slight burrs from the laser cutting process. He also used the disc with firmer pressure to remove scratches, weld spatter and to gently radius edges on structural steel.

Results:
Chris has explained the Norton Rapid Blend disc massively reduces production time as it can all be done in one go. Normally he would have to use a 120 grit flap disc followed by hand sanding to achieve a pre-paint finish. It certainly refined and finished the steel to a very high shine.

Furthermore, Chris has also been using the Norton Rapid Blend disc to clean up and polish brass on name plates that he makes.
